The Clinical Care Team of Community Counseling

Joan Wise, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Life can bring difficult times. These may be financial, death, loss of a job or even loss of our independence through illness or accidents, as well as school or marital issues. All of us have our mountains to climb and the mountains at times seem overwhelming to us. This is where counseling comes in. Experience in life’s issues and the hard times that can bring us to feeling we will never get to the top of the mountain are where an experienced counselor and counselling skills can help. I am a Clinical Psychologist and did my doctorate work at Wheaton College. I work with adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients. I have a Fellow in Thanatology which is the study of death and dying. I work with depression, anxiety, bi-polar, OCD, couples and marital counseling as well as grief and loss.

Since I went to Wheaton College for my education I am able to work with people who want to incorporate their spirituality with their counseling. I also work with patients who have chronic illness or disorders to help them learn to adjust to their change of living habits.
